Interdisciplinary Programs to Host Graduate Orientation and Welcome

On August 31 in suite 401 Cathedral of Learning, the following five interdisciplinary programs in the humanities will host a joint orientation and welcome reception for graduate students interested in earning doctoral and master's certificates:

 

Free MOOC course: "Gender and Sexuality: Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace"

Pitt has just launched a new MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) through Coursera.  The course Gender and Sexuality: Diversity and Inclusion in the Workplace, will introduce learners to the field of gender, sexuality, and women's studies, and to LGBTQIA identities.

Fall 2017

GSWS is now closed for the summer, but do plan to come back for more in September. We have the trinity of gender studies scholars coming to visit in fall term: Kathryn Stockton, Gayle Rubin, Jack Halberstam. A year of events on the topic of "Gender and Childhood" (colloquium in April, grad seminar & undergrad course in fall term). And more. We're not stopping now.

Congratulations to Todd Reeser

Congratulations to GSWS Director Todd Reeser, whose book in sexuality studies Setting Plato Straight: Translating Ancient Sexuality in the Renaissance, won the 2017 Gordan book prize from the Renaissance Society of America. The selection committee offered this statement:
