Regina Futcher Wins Grant for LGBTQ Research

GSWS student Regina Futcher has won a $4000 Summer Undergraduate Research Award (SURA) this summer to study gay print media from the 1960s and 1970s under the supervision of Dr. Julie Beaulieu.

Futcher is majoring in GSWS and Psychology and pursuing a minor in Legal Studies.  Her research this summer focuses on two magazines, Detroit-based The Gay Liberator and an Iowa publication targeting rural readers called RFD (Rustic Fairy Dreams).  Read more about Futcher's project and plans here.
