Visiting Lecturer Position in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at the University of Pittsburgh

The Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies (GSWS) Program at the University of Pittsburgh invites applications for a non-tenure-steam visiting lecturer position. The position will begin in fall term 2018 with a one-year contract.

The successful candidate will be an innovative teacher and will teach six GSWS courses over the year (3 in fall, 3 in spring), such as Introduction to GSWS, Introduction to Feminist Theory, and two advanced courses (masculinities in fall term and a second course in an area of interest and expertise in spring term). Candidates must be able to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary program and participate in collective governance. A PhD near completion or in hand at the time of appointment is required. PhD may be in any discipline, including but not limited to Gender Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, or Communications. The GSWS Program at the University of Pittsburgh is a vibrant community of interdisciplinary students and scholars with an undergraduate major and minor, a graduate certificate, and a very active events calendar with visiting scholars, conferences, and other research activities.

Review of applications will begin May 16, 2018 and will continue until the position is filled. Dossier must include: a letter of application containing a description of academic background and teaching philosophy, curriculum vitae, graduate transcript (unofficial), and a teaching dossier with student evaluations (2-4 sets).
